Welcome music lovers!
Well, these have been interesting times the last month or so. The country right now is for the most part on complete shutdown mode. There is no doubt everyone and every business is affected to some degree by COVID-19. To the families affected health wise by this pandemic, my thoughts and prayers with you. We must do our part and listen to the advice of the medical professionals. As hard as it for us to accept these new realities, we have no choice but to be responsible so this doesn't last longer than expected. It's important to stay home at all times unless you absolutely need to go grocery shopping, etc. Let's hope for better times soon.
As a professional musician, my line of work has drastically changed, for better and for worse. It's very challenging not being able to perform in front of people on a nightly basis, especially the social component. There really is nothing better than positive face to face communication through music. Economically, it's extremely challenging. It's a tough competitive industry to begin with, and now factor in that the restaurants and venues that hire you for your services are forced to shut down entirely for the immediate future. But in reality, the health and safety of human beings is first and most important priority.
It's April 13th as I currently write this blog. Despite the extreme challenges one month in so far, I have managed to stay extremely productive while at home. Live streaming on Facebook has helped boost my online exposure to new audiences. I'm writing new originals every week, and have now begun online guitar lessons. The support of my family, friends, and fan base has been more than I can ask for. It continues to give me motivation to share my music daily.
Bottom line, it could be worse. Although I'm by myself at the moment, I'm healthy and well rested especially after the busiest winter I've ever had work wise. My girlfriend and immediate family members are all safe and healthy. I have plenty of food and a roof over my head. And, I get to play music anytime for you guys online from the comfort of my home. There's plenty of reason to be positive and hopeful for the future. It may be the wildest and strangest times of our lives, but we still should believe better times will return.
Be safe, healthy, and strong everyone. Most importantly, be kind.
